It's seems noone wants any badges or similar for chipping in, but what I'm pretty sure people would like would some kind of upwards counting counter which shows how much the total is
That way we know when it's time to chip in again...

          Zokes,

The problem might be getting it (I dread to use THAT word here too, but) soon, rather than how much we can donate forth.

Put me down for £20. (Could be more depending on luck )

IF the MURC goes ad-financed (besides donation), I WANT the ads to display when I view, even though I donated. Maybe I click an ad one day, adding a few cents (or better yet, they are paid by impressions, not clicks).

I think donations are a better way though. Making money with ads is damn hard these days, unlike some years ago, and I don't really want to shock the monkey to win 20,- $

I know. I hope we can donate in time. I can put 20-40$ canadian.

Is GBP the same as £? Do you need 600$ U.S.?

                      I like Technoid's idea.

As for money collection, how's about nominating a trusted person in each of the US, the Euro zone, the UK, and perhaps Canada, Japan, Oz (depending on demand), to collate cheques or electronic bank transfers (this is the easiest way for me to pay anyone now - unfortunately not yet using the international SWIFT system!). Then once these nominees have enough together, this can be transferred & FX'd to Ant in GBP.

Just an idea - perhaps the mods would be willing to be the "trusted" parties?

I am low on cash currently but I can help with some design for the front page. When the situation changes I am willing to donate/subscribe. MURC is the reason I have 2 working graphic boards instead of one.

Othervise and add or two wouldn't hurt. You could have a business model like Ars or Ace's where .pdfs are available only to subscriptors and they are entitled to custom titles in the fora. Maybe subscriptors could have animated avatars and longer sigs.

My email is in my profile

Yeah, I'm In Japan. But from Australia.
If it came to it I have a bank account you could pay into/ a postal address in Oz that you could send checks addressed to me to.

It would probably make more sense if all of us Ozzies (ignore that I'm in japan) got together to send Ant the money as our exchange rate is bad enough without everyone paying postal transfer fees on top of that.
