You know I was going to write and try to furthur justify my reason for closing those thread but I realized I don't have too.

Furthurmore if you have a problem with it then this may be something that needs to be taken up with Ant over in the Site Feedback Forum which is where you will find this thread continued.

Well the last thread that got locked, I was the last poster, so I guess I'm one of those troublemaking types Joel referred to who brings chaos, mayhem and lots of flames to any subject he touches. Nice to know I'm appreciated.

RedRed, thats me, you and Dogbert posted on this thread, so it ought to be locked any second n--

Man do some of y'all have guility consciences or something??? Just because you were the last one that posted before a thread got closed does not mean it was closed because of you. I don't have time to sit at the PC and monitor each thread by the minute.

            Joel

BTW: I can't close this one. Not my forum. So go ahead and blast away at me all you want.

PSS: Not every thread that is closed or deleted is done by me. So why don't you blast away at Ant too. I'm sure he would love to try out his new Doc Martins.

Its always about expressing opinions..... Its just when the opinions are not liked, even if thats by a majority, there seems to be an issue, someone needs to get personal...

Whe Gurm attacked Catholicism, I tried (for a while) to defend it. I would defend any faith, but I would defend my own to the hilt.

This thread wasnt banned..... It was a VERY big thing for me...

Comment on Pa*isti**, I*r*** or the sweet U?A and your thread will get locked faster than a fast thing

It's the deliberate blaming of Israel and the good old USA for all the world's problems and the out and out attempt to justify the waton horrific murder of innocent men, women and children by the suicide bombers that I will not tolerate.

Plus there are some people who don't want to take the time to realize that this has nothing to do with the way someone has been treated anyway but that these people believe that Israel and the USA, better known as 'The Great Satan', or anyone who stands with them should be destroyed because we refuse to bow down to a dictatorship and follow the 700 year old teaching of ancient Islam, which makes us the infidels. They also don't want to see that the Palistians are just being used as pawns to devert the attention away from the real reasons for this conflict. This hatered for the Israelies and anyone who stands with them goes back 4000 years to the time of Abraham.

Everybody is going to know real soon that Iraq does have weapons of mass destruction and has not qualms againist using them againist innocent men, women and children. Has people already forgotten that he has already murder thousands of his own people with these same type of weapons?? So if he is willing to murder even his own people with these weapons do you really think he will have a problem with murdering others with them??

                  Something to think about, huh???

So the thread discussing the reasons for British support / antipathy for the American cause was locked for what reason?

Like I said I am not the only one who can lock or delete threads in that forum. And I have seen enough of those type of threads to realize where they will be heading very soon. Call it my preemptive strike if you will. But then again without knowing the specific one you are referring to makes it hard for me to know for sure if it was the Administrator or myself who locked or deleted it.

But why was GT98's recent thread deleted, and by whom? I have not seen any replys to him, as I was reading the fine text he linked to, which is quite long.

At least the starting post was very calmly written and asked for serious, calm discussion of said text. I would have wanted to contribute

See, this might be a difference between "european" and "US" interests: Sometimes a preemptive strike may cause more harm than it does good. It's a little like enforcing the death penalty before the murderer is found guilty. (Please do not take offense at this last paragraph I wrote, I do not intend to attack anyone with it, I just try to point out the different views of things, with a maybe poor example).

That is the way they always start. I read through it too and it is IMO the same old BS. Europeans feel that the are smarter than everyone else so they understand things better than everyone else including knowing more about the American way of thinking than the American knows himself.

i did only read 1/3 of the text and it seemed very reasonable to me. after all it was written by someone from the US and not some smart european. and by someone quite reputable on top of that.
