Matrox is going for the simultanious anouncement and release, right?

It all depends when we announce it

That almost sounds like premature ejaculation! LOL

I take it as a good sign to see Haig teasing us this way

I hope I'm getting the right impression that Haig has confidence in the soon to be announced new product, we've all been hopefully waiting for.

I can't wait reading the reviews and hope I don't have to spend too much money for the new card so I can buy a 19" or 21" for optimum enjoyment factor

Any suggestions for a particular monitor model I should consider?

I'm on IRC #murc Dalnet for the next couple of hours, perhaps meet you there...

Hmm now there's a thought maybe Matrox are following in Star Treks footsteps, the Millennium was like original Trek, the G400 MAX was your Star Trek Next Generation all souped up and brought bang up to date, the G450 was like Deep Space Nine, a bit boring at first and warmed up a little toward the end and the G550 is like Voyager, totally lost. So what we have to look forward is an Enterprise experience...

sounds not good at all - you know that they are using old technology in the new series?

Does it have another Bird Codename? Like the good old Condor (G550)

I hope that if a new Matrox card will be released it matches the performance off the ATI radeon 8500 or a GF3 . Otherwise I just stick with my G400MAX (DH) or I buy me a radion 8500 (Hydravision).

To top it off,it looks like the updated GF3 TI 500(gf3 ultra???) is already available for pre order by some outlets and it looks like nvidia is set to unveil it on the first of october.

I think Matrox's next card will be the dogs B***ocks simply because for the 1st time in 2 years they have hinted as such.

Superfly, are you really surprised with that?
I'm not, since the Radeon2 seems to be in time I was sure that NVidia would have something out (and not merely a new 3Dmark/QIII faking detonator that is slower in everything else....)
But we named the *dog* Indiana...

I'm not really surprised about it really since nvidia does have a habit of introducing faster cards every six months or so,even if it may very well be just a faster clocked GF3....

And it's not impossible that faster clocked gf3 could very well be 30~40% faster than the standard gf3,judging by the core and memory speed numbers being rumored about, especially on the memory speed front since 3.2 ns DDR sdram(300 mhz = 600mhz DDR x 128 bit bus=9.6 gigs/sec) is already available by the major DDR memory makers(samsung, infineon and elpida)

My GF3 is has been working nicely for the last 4 months now at 240 mhz core and 270 mhz memory with no problems whatsoever and yes the latest detonators work extremely well for me in all games(21.81's not last month's beta 20.80's that were reviewed)

All i'm saying is that if matrox indeed has something up it's sleeve regarding a more gaming oriented card, the competition was already tough enough with the regular gf3 and radion 8500 as it is,that's all...
