hmm, copy-paste from GF4 specs. I would like to see that card from Matrox, but with these specs it would probably take like 2 years to release. And by this time you should multiply those figures with 5 to get normally running games.
yeah, but maybe they started 2 years ago
This sig is a shameless atempt to make my post look bigger.

See there's my concern - that's obviously not enough motivation for them.. I don't think that is reason enogh to expect they will release a new card soon..

I''m sure as sh*t hoping like hell they do, of course..

If Matrox doesn't release something soon

I'd hate to see something like SiS beat them in the performance market:

Mind you, video quality and driver stability will never be anywhere near Matrox...
        ECS K7S5A Pro, Athlon XP 2100+, 512 Megs PC-3200 CAS2.5, HIS Radeon 9550/VIVO 256Meg DDR

        Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe C Mobile Athlon 2500+ @ 2.2GHz, 1GB PC-3200 CAS2.5, Hauppauge MCE 150, Nvidia 6600 256DDR

        Asus A8R32 MVP, Sempron 1600+ @ 2.23GHz, 1 Gig DDR2 RAM, ATI 1900GT

Yeah I'd seen it before, but it just still wasn't enough to convince me... I had so high expectations before the release of G450 and especially G550 that now I'm gonna be more cautious with the hype and not get too enthusiastic too early "in the game".

I still work on the 'buy what fits my needs best when I'm ready to upgrade plan'. This has kept me from waiting around helplessly while my G400 got run over by new video cards in games.

On the other hand, this is the most hype, not to mention the most word forthcoming from any Matrox employee, that we've seen in a while. So I can't help but feel optimistic that this time something will come of it.
            "..so much for subtlety.."

            System specs:
            Gainward Ti4600
            AMD Athlon XP2100+ (o.c. to 1845MHz)

              AAAIEEEEeeee!!11½ Reactor Critical Says:
12 January - Matrox Graphics is not fine

According to the information from many sources, Matrox Graphics cannot be called a really successful company. Also we have no information regarding the financial state of Matrox Graphics, we may assert this keeping in mind the recent information both from press-releases and web-sites. Let us remind you the most important news and facts about the graphics subdivision of Matrox:
Matrox Graphics is not going to to have a public presence at CeBIT.
A game server that was run by Matrox Technical support crew for Matrox Users have been axed saving the company about $2 a week. This seems to be a part of the recent cost-sutting campaign.
Matrox is not going to announce any new Marvel series graphics card. The Marvel G450eTV is the last of its kind.
The development of new drivers as well as Video Tools for Marvel G450 eTV has been stopped.
We should wait and see what will happen. At this time we can only say Matrox is not focusing on consumer graphics solutions and their finances are in poor condition.

Unfortunately, the way things are going it could very well happen. Lets hope things turn around soon for them.

I always figured that the best way to make money when you're a video-card manufacturer would be to.. umm, I dunno.. sell video cards, perhaps? That's all they need to do. GIVE US A DAMN CARD TO BUY. Problem solved.

MATROX CHOSEN FOR WORLD'S FASTEST PC!

At least we could have big headlines that say the above...

Japanese Holicho is one mean overclocker, this time he used a 2,2 GHz Northwood P4. Of course, when overclocking he'll use only the absolutely best hardware there is - that's why his display adapter is a 4 meg Matrox Millennium
Using liquid nitrogen cooling he is currently able to reach clock speeds excelling 3,5 GHz...

Too bad the 3DMarks were made with a Geforce3 TI500. But maybe next year...

Edit: Okay, so it isn't world's fastest PC anymore: http://www.muropaketti.com/artikkeli...n2/index.phtml

I have a very hard time trying to beleive this.

At least there is nothing to this effect to find on Matrox´s homepage (as far as I can tell). If it´s true it´s a disaster; who´d want to work there, then?

On the other hand the CL 5446 is quite good. At 1024x768 you can almost read the text on the screen
