I'm 100% sure Matrox is developing a new graphics core. They can't live off the G400/550 core forever.
I'm about 95% sure that Matrox will not announce a new core at a trade show in March. The same thing happened last year with the ill-fated G550. The forums were all a buzz with Soon ™ and vain hopes that an announcement would be made at GDC or CeBIT. In the end...we got the G550 in May/June.
I'm pretty sure the G400 wasn't announced at a trade show either. Don't know about the G200 or G100. I don't remember a single product announcement from Matrox at a trade show, but I could be wrong.
All I know about this rumored Parhelia thing is what I've read on the forums and what I've read between the lines. Only time will tell whether a Parhelia or a GeForce 4 will grace my system in summer/fall when the big upgrade hits.

well if the parhelia thing is real and ready matrox are not going to wait till summer to announce just because they dont want to announce at a trade sow. and if the parhelia is any good it reallly would make the nvidiots look lame at the trade show.is a flower best picked in it's prime or greater withered away by time?
Talk about a dream, try to make it real.

We'll see...I simply doubt that any announcements will be made at GDC or CeBIT. Assuming, of course, that Soon ™ means within 1-2 months. Knowing Matrox's track record, Soon ™ could be 3-6 months or longer.

Okay, I have something to confess.
I bought M Graphics some 18 months ago for a Geforce 256 SDR and two bottles of aspirin. Since then I and some friends of mine have run a fake website and forum, as well as released some randomly modified drivers to keep up the illusion. We also released some products that we found lying around the place... We couldn't quite figure them all out but we just threw old parts at them until they worked, or at least seemed to. I would have wanted to release another of them "Marvel" thingies too, but one of my buddies had already sold the tech to those ATI guys in exchange for that hilarious "head transfer" tech or whatever they called it.
The whole thing was pretty fun while it lasted, but we're getting kinda tired now, our money is running out and those "customer" people can get kinda annoying. So we figured that we'd better tell the truth before we do any real damage. Now that you know the truth - the show is over, nothing to see here, everybody just go home OK? And please don't be mad at us - you know, it's not a perfect world
Cheers,
