Tempest: I don't know about "Matrox Obsession": it sounds too much like a parfume name to me!

BTW, virus IS a latin word, and it nominative & vocative plural form is virii… which is an exception, maybe because it would have caused some conFusionā„¢ with the word "viri" in the antique Roma (instead of "I got myself one of those viruses" one could've understood "I got myself one of those men" . . . yuck, gross!!! but common in that place and time )

Without looking in a dictionary or Google, what's the singular form of the plural "opera"?

Well well, I see subtlety wasn't given to everyone… and maybe not everyone was as lucky as to get a sense of humor

                        Hey you guys,

Insted of arguing about two dead languages, why don't you just learn Esperanto.

It is much more easy and regular than any other languages and it is unisersal and neutral. It would be a big + for mutual understanding between people from different contries...

Think about it because it is worth it...

                        Gxis!

I already know five real langauges, why would I want to learn a made-up one?

Didn't the Parhelia name originate here (as 95%+ of all Matrox rumors)? Maybe someone just flipped through a dictionary one day and saw "parhelia," and thought, "Hey that's a cool word, what's it mean? Bright spot appearing on the side of the sun? Doesn't the Matrox logo look like that?" If that's how it originated, blame him for using the plural forum instead of the singular form

...and besides: parhelia is just a codename.
usually companies don't select codenames with huge amount of time and careing if it gives right hint when it leaks to publicity.

                                Well Nappe,

I think we could use a new nomenclature for graphics cards, something more down-to-earth than the other companies silly allusions to crime, war and violence.

                                I suggest

Matrox Turkku for the low end edition
Matrox Tukthus for the FPS edition, and
Matrox Savitaipale for the high end edition
