that would require more than 256mb video-ram, so don´t count on it.

unless matrox found a way to make fsaa in some fancy new way.

besides, i think all the monitors would have to have the same size to be optimal.
or can that be adjusted?

Parhelia is in the world first section 512 GPU , uses 0.15 microns production craft, integrated 8000 ten thousand transistors, had 256 reveals saves, reveals saves the band width surpassed 20GB/s , detailed technical specification everybody or when on May 14th looked our report. P

in fact thinking about it if you were running triple head in a game there would really be no need to have the two side monitors running at ultra high resolutions and high quality as you would spend most time looking at the centre monitor and your eyes cant pick up detail very well in the peripheral regions. so you may be able to run the centre monitor at high res with all the bells and whistles and the other two at lower quality while retaining v.good framerates. just a thought.

Don't think that would work in games where you looking at the same area/picture... It's like having a wide work area in windows..

3 x 1024x786 = 1024x2304

If you have diffrent resolution... then the height isn't the same...

I like how in the Q3 pic the camera actually got a picture of another camera. Whoever ran this press conference certainly doesn't know how to do it.

Do you plan to put your monitor 2 and 3 ontop of monitor 1 ??

This is my translation of the article. Not fine, but a bit better than the computer translation.

On the banner: Announcement in China
Please keep the information secret until 14.5.2002

Yesterday, on 10.5, the long awaited Matrox G1000 video card was announced in China, prior to the official global announcement dated on 14.5. That shows how important the Chinese market is for Matrox.

The true name of the card that we called G1000 is Parhelia. The technicians from Matrox showed us many new features and technical specs of the G1000. According to the specs, the card is in fact superior to any other current video cards. Before the conference all the media participants have signed the NDA. Any report should wait until 14.5. Therefore we cannot reveal too much technical specs at the moment. But we would give you a few hints:

Parhelia is the world’s first 512 bit GPU. It’s produced with the 0.15-micron technology and has 80 million transistors. The 256 bit video memory has a bandwidth over 20GB/s. More information can only be disclosed on 14.5.

The technicians from Matrox also showed us the triple-head technology. It was really nice. Many editors from the media even got a personal feeling of it by playing Quake3 on three monitors.

[… comments on pictures ...]

Although it was only a sample card, but we still have got the feeling, that Parhelia will definitely change Matrox’s position on the current 3D video market and makes it a stronger competitor. For the end users, Parhelia means more options!
