If you look into ATIs whitepaper for the Radeon, it clearly states that the RageTheater chip can do component-out.
And as I understand it, this is NOT an external converter to convert a normal DVI signal to component, but a real component output.
It's just that they haven't released the dongle up to now. Well, that's ATI...Radeon&trade also features the highest quality method available to deliver output to a HDTV monitor by supporting direct output of component video.

Well Component Vid out would be a great feature for those of us who work in the Film/Video Editing arena....
