I predict the next card will be a 1/2 crippled 64meg version (coughsundogcough), followed by a 3/4 crippled version (coughsunlightcough), in an attempt to get rid of their current stock of chips.
8x version? Not untill they unload the current batch of chips...
System Specs:
(1) Motherboard, (1) Processor, (2) sticks of RAM, (1) video card, (1) sound card, (1) NIC, (1) CD-R, (1) CD-RW

How do they 3/4 cripple a P? Clock it at 150?

The speed/features of the next card will all depend on what market it will be targetted towards.
Until it gets announced, there's not much more that I can say about it other than, get some sleep becuase it's still a while away.

Yeah, I agree.

Mine put a big K inside a Circle on my ass. Hurt like hell.
The branding, that is.

Matrox has several things to fix in the next Parhelia!

- Banding issues
- Fragment Anti-Aliasing
- Anisotropic filtering
- Bad pixel & vertex shadder preformance
- Higher GPU frquencys (350Mhz ++)

Adding some form of occlusion culling would really help performance.

While they're at it, pixel shader 2.0 or higher would also become a must.

Another idea for a budget card would be to lisence the PowerVR Series5....

Do you really think that after the flop M3D was that they would ever use another PVR chip on one of their cards?

Well after this whole Parhelia debacle, and the rumours flying around... They might be desperate enough to do so.

Oh come on, Kruzin. This is Matrox you're talking about. What does common sense have to do with any of their business decisions of the last three years?
