This could just mean they need people with new knowledge to update their current hardware proiles.
ie make the 550/650/Parhelia series up to date with Vista..?

I REALLY wish Matrox to come out with a new graphics core, but I just cannot believe it until i see it

Thats a intro level position. Notice the "You possess 0-2 years of ASIC design experience in advanced technology nodes"
Someone fresh out of college isn't going to be able to design a high end graphics ASIC.

It isn't possible to do an update to the current gpu core to make it fully DX10 compatible for the Aero interface without basically a full redesign. Their boards will work on vista with new drivers, but they just won't have the cool interface support. Don't expect to see a DX10 compliant gpu from Matrox for quite a while.

I believe that Matrox has been working with the Windows Vista compliant GPU since the release of Parhelia-8x graphics cards, but they also want to make sure that they have enough talented people for the years to come (Windows Vista 2nd Edition, Windows WhatEver etc.)...
