  • Playoff fever

Thanks Elie, it's nice after all this time to still see a few familiar names.

Regarding the Canucks, I don't know what's going on. They had a great season, but that means nothing now, except for home ice advantage.

The funny thing is, although game 7 is here in Vancouver, I'll be in Montreal while the game is being played. I'm catching a 10 am flight Tuesday morning. I'll be arriving in time to watch the Habs/Bruins play, and then I'll continue to be glued to the TV watching the game back home.

I'm hoping to have internet access while I'm in Montreal, but if you don't see a report here by me after the game you'll know why not.

Okay, it's time for the real Canucks to step up to the plate... time to finally rid themselves of the Blackhawk curse!

    • Must be good to be in Vancouver this morning :-)

Hopefully the same outcome will be in tonite's game.

I wouldn't know, as I'm in Montreal this week. But yeah, what a game!

Canucks finally put away the Hawks 2-1 in OT in game 7.

I've been waiting three years to post the following. Enjoy!

        The Night Chicago Died

        12 victories to go.

And good luck to the Habs tonight!

          • Man, too bad about the Habs

The hockey team I'm in Montreal with watched the Bruins/Habs game in a private room at sports pub downdown. We had fun, but it was pretty disappointing to be in Montreal and see the Habs lose in OT and get knocked out of the series.

Oh well, the Canucks are now Canada's team in the playoffs!

              • Good start to the series

The Canucks dominated the Nashville Predators in game 1 of their series, but only beat them by a score of 1-0. A goose egg for Looooooou.

                11 more victories to go.

                • Dang it

The Canucks blew a 1-0 lead with about one minute(!) left in game 2 of their series with the Predators and lost in OT. So the series is now tied 1-1 and moving to Nashville.

                  • 3 games in a row with the Canucks only scoring 1 in regulation. Not very impressive.

                    • Looking good

Nashville scored late in the game to tie it (again), but this time the Canucks prevailed in OT and defeated the Predators 3-2 in game 3. Vancouver now leads the series 2-1.

                      10 more victories to go.

                      * * *

Yesterday was an interesting day for me to be watching the game. I watched the buildup during the day prior to the game on TV while still in Montreal, I watched the start of the game while 40,000 feet up in the air somewhere over Manitoba, and I watched the finish of the game while sitting at home in Vancouver.

                      • Wonder if the Caps are going to unload people now that they got swept. 2 years in a row with high expectations and both years they fall early.

                        • No OT this time

The planets are starting to align as they should. Last night's game was more like I expected in this series.

The Canucks defeated the Predators 4-2 in game 4 of their series. Vancouver now leads the series 3-1 with game 5 to be played in Vancouver on Saturday.

The Preds are a well coached team but they simply don't have the horses. Their playoff run is just about over.

The Sedins might even be waking up from their playoff nap. If that's indeed the case, it bodes well for the Canucks.

                          9 more victories to go.

Being on the west coast, I don't see a whole lot of the Caps during the season. However, their early exit from the playoffs the last two years at least goes to show that it takes more than a "star" player (in this case, Ovechkin) to succeed in the playoffs.

                            • I know that each time the Caps come to town, they usually come in a day early and party at a local strip ->Chez Pare

                              • Come on Canucks, let's see what you're really made of tonight!

On Saturday the Canucks lost 4-3 to the Predators in game 5 of their series. The Canucks still lead the series 3-2, but it scares me that the Canucks appear to lack the ability to finish teams off quickly in the playoffs. They were leading the Hawks 3-0 in that series before they finally finished the Hawks off in game 7. They could've finished off the Predators last game, but now they'll have to do it tonight, or heaven forbid, in another game 7.
