Yeah it's funny how the NHL. sees more green in the US, while all we see are the empty seats on TV. But it's all about percentages

Wow, I was getting a liitle worried there with Ottawa last night too, that second period where they were getting a little lazy was hard to watch.

I could see that happenning, but they would probably call them the Nordiques again.

      • That's more like it!

Canucks beat the Ducks 2-1 in the second period of overtime in game two. Not bad for a team with four regulars out with injuries.

        • Ducks played their worst game of the playoffs, and Vancouver still only managed to get 1 in regulation, and the winner was a fluke. I'm gonna stick with being a negative nancy on this one.

            • Yup, there were octopi on the ice

Also; the Pistons ousted the Orlando Magic 4-0 in round 1 of the NBA.

              For the series;

              77.6% from the foul line
              59 steals/turnovers
              27 three-pointers

Which of course Vancouver had nothing to do with.

It's the one scored in overtime that's meaningful.

Hey Doc, this is a NHL thread not a NBA thread, but since you mentioned it The Raptors are doing okay too. Not as nice as those stats.

Sens loose in double overtime. That hurt. Now back in Ottawa for the next two games.

The Duck's goalie should've had it, but in all honesty, it was kind of a pretty goal.

However, pretty or not, they're all worth the same.

                      • The Canucks need to get their PP together. 0 for 53 so far in the playoffs?

                        • Missed the game tonight

Had an ice-time of my own
I play mostly with a bunch of junior A/B and ex and future WHL guys. We are usually on the ice about twice a week and just scrimmage - lots of fun

They've got a few PP goals, but yes, their PP needs to smarten up if the Canucks hope to get past this round.

[EDIT] I heard on a local sports broadcast today that the Canuck's PP is 4 for 58 in the playoffs. That's a lot of lost opportunities.

Elie, when at first I didn’t see you post I was wondering if you were okay. But then I remembered that the Leafs were toast, so your continued absence was not totally unexpected.

Yeah, I come back here every spring to dredge up this old thread. It's become an annual ritual.
