Well there's two different directory structures. The original that was mine and there was his. I did a file compare between and put everything that was the same aside using compfold. I then did the opostie and took the files that were different and made two more directories. I then used a dupe utility to clean out all the dupes in his directory alone. Out of 800 files around half were dupes inside his own directory. It was way too much considering that I only had around 270. Now or should I say later today I will be in the process of finding the ones he renamed and moved and replacing them in my version of the folder. There should be hardly any left at that point in his directory which will proabably be cell phone pictures and the like or they weren't taken with his digital camera. I am the one who loads these digitial camera pictures onto any computer's so I try to keep track of everything. I would not have bothered cleaning up his but I found out that he was copying, duplicating and generaly mucking around with everything. WHy should I do this you ask? It is better than waiting three years down the road and he has 20 GB of what shoould be 3 GB of photos. I already had to add a drive to his computer because his personal media was getting too large which includes many family DVDs as well as others with friends. Loud sigh . . . . test.
