Hey dont mean to be picky.... but when was the last time you raised the bar for CGI?

I think the hulk looks great especially int he latest trailer.. and none of us can really comment until weve seen the finished film.. if im wrong.. ill eat the fluff from my old mouse ball

I've never raised the bar, but I've never tried to profit from it either. But the Hulk seems like a perfect example of putting expensive tools in talentless hands. I mean, my god, the balrog looks more realistic than the Hulk.

Companies that make trailers are paid a LOT of money to make something that shows the best of the movie. For example, the trailer for Matrix:Reloaded has my adrenaline pumping before the preview is even over. I'm going to see that movie. Multiple times. With The Hulk, I don't care about the movie at all. The trailer is completely flat. Utter blah. Hulk looks awful, the plot seems lame, and I'm not even excited about Jennifer Connely. If that's the best 90 seconds they could make from hours worth of movie footage, there's no way they're getting my money. I'll just go watch X2 again, and again.

yes the matrix looks amazing.. and ill be first in the line, but again no one has seen the finished movie yet so all your commenting on is the fx in the trailers.. i dont even pretend to know how much work goes into creating something like that but i know what its like to have your work critisced by those who know nothing about it.. maybe your an fx artist for weta or something and if thats the case i apologise but i know that to call ILM 'talentless' is totally undeserved. they and other companies have been breaking huge ground in fx, so even if for some reason there is a power failure at ilm and and he is illustrated by crayon drawings at the last minute...... the talentless comment is still unfair

incorrect! people have seen matrix reloaded already, read the reviews on AICN or in Time magazine (but beware! they're full of spoilers) and from what they have said, the FX are simply unbelievable...

The Hulk looks just bad. Acting on all three major characters I've seen in the trailer is just bad (could be the german dub, but when they don't put much effort in a good german dub, it shows how much they care about the movie). I liked some scenes, but it all looks just too comicky - X-Men and Spidey have shown how comic adaptions should be done, IMHO, and Teh Hulk just looks stupid, both the model and the animations (which could have been very impressive, with him throwing around tanks etc., if they would look a little bit more realistic).

Now you might say "It's a comic adaption, it isn't meant to look realistic" - well, it is a comic ADAPTION, with real people (don't want to say actors), so the Hulk simply does not fit in. Maybe he would fit if the entire movie was cg, or drawn. But I even doubt that.

When i was talking about fx i meant the hulk, all you have seen of the hulk is bits in the trailers.. i know reloaded has been seen, so has bits of the hulk, and they say its an amazing movie.

im not comparing the hulk effects to reloaded, it would be stupid to since matrix is duplicating and exapnading on reality and the hulk is ceating a giant green gamm fueled monster..

my main point of posting was not to say ones better then the other, just that its unfair to call fx people un-talented..

I'd say they are because technically the Hulk might be good, but from an aesthetic and consistency point of view he isn't.

The Hulk alone looks great.

The Hulk as part of the movie... doesn't blend with the environment.

GOOD Environmental Blending = Gollum from LOTR:TTT.
BAD Environmental Blending = Hulk.

Though she said her appearance in a third movie is subject to a lot of things... I sure hope she'll be in there, the movie just won't make sense with another actor (besides being not as beautiful )
