Bah relationships. Awful things always complicate life, lot easier being single.

            Oh, still one more:

Smile. Smiling really helps make you feel better. Really. Make out a smile even if you don't feel like smiling (this isn't the same as pretending to be happy). The muscles stimlulate some kind of happy hormones when you're smiling, and before long, you'll smile honestly

What really helps is having other interests and keep doing them. Stops the mind dwelling.
Alternatively you could be like my friend who's got two interests Football and drinking. Take away the girlfriend and the football and you've got one person ringing up for 12 hr drinking binges all the weekend.

Liz, if this is because of a guy, don't sweat it. People aren't worth suffering for, whether male or female. 90% of human beings are complete and utter shit, and are not worth the time. To steal/paraphrase a line from The Salton Sea, "I wouldn't cross the road to piss on most of them if their head was on fire".

Now if loss is whats bothering you because someone died, nothing can be done there except wait it out. Only thing that will help you out there is time (as corny as that sounds). Having good friends around helps too, and I'm sure you have lots of those.

If the downer is because you are totally unhappy/unsatisfied with another non-love-related aspect of your life (self esteem/confidence, unhappy with your looks/weight, work situation, etc), the only one who can fix that is you.

EDIT: read your other post in the pic thread. Refer to paragraph #1.

Why worry, there should be laughter after the pain
There should be sunshine after rain
These things have always been the same
                      So why worry now...

                        Im with AZ.

Personally, I bought some new really (really!!) expensive diving equipment.

More than a year later, I still smile when I use it, both enjoying the quality, and the fact that my life have turned so much for the better (oh, and that I have almost completed my payments..).

Yes, The PIT and DukeP are right. Other interests are a step in the right direction. They make you feel good and, last but not least, they "steal" time so you don't have to worry about your life the whole day. Try to make a (short) cycling tour. That will make you feel much better (I drove ~ 920 km this year [until now]. Give it a try!

What you have to do is just take THIS . You'll be whole lot better. Or just kill yourself like I did. I screwed up myself going into the prison to set myself straight up. Just go kill people. It'll destroy your stress completely. The worthier people you murder, the more orgasm you will have.

As everything else, this will come to pass.
