Chickens aren't flightless. They can become airborne over short distances. They're semi-flightless because of their long cultivation by humans. Emus on the other hand have wings the same way we have tails. Yeah, there's skeletal structure to support the IDEA of wings, but when you go lookin', there's just a bump.
