I have a collection of pre-e-mail Nigerian stamps

One guy in Yverdon, Switzerland, got taken in and went to Nigeria with "his deposit to show good faith", his life savings. He was arrested at Lagos airport on a trumped-up charge of illegal entry (the police are in on the scam) and the money was "confiscated". He spent 3 months in clink, where he had to pay exorbitantly for his meals and added comforts, with his credit card, and was eventually deported without trial. He wrote to a local newspaper, "24 Heures", about his experience which left him in heavy debt. He then committed suicide, a day or two after his article was published.
