Sorry George, didn't mean to rub it in. I guess some people are 'city' people and others aint. If you are one of those people who makes use of all the things a city like London has to offer, then it is the place to be. On the other hand, if you need somewhere for all the kids to sleep, and enough space to swing a large sized cat, and aren't on way-above-average incomes (no-one gets rich doing physics for the Government)...Originally posted by GNEP
Yeah yeah thanks for that Tone
Just think what you'll be able to buy outside London one day

Well I can't imagine anything worse than spending the rest of my life in London - it just makes sense for the next few years whilst I'm young, single and all my friends are around...
And besides, you can easily move out of London, but going the other way round would be much tougher.
Very much doubt I'll end up back in Knighton/Stoneygate one day though...

I just went out to celebrate the mortgage going though.. we went to a nice pub near Henly in Arden.. Very posh down there...
The bank phoned yesterday so say that they had made a mistake so we are back to square one with the mortgage

We need 110% to fund the move and pay off a few debts.
Natwest said that they would do it, but couldn't do their sums and gave us an offer of 106%. When I sent the offer back with a request for the full 110%, they replied saying that they dont do >100%, but will honour the 106% as it was their mistake.
ScottishWidows will do 110%, but they are making things very difficult... I will phone them tomorrow and have it out with them...
We have enough to buy the house, but not enough to leave a contingency fund

Dread to think what the repayments are going to be.
