I hate sandals, they just don't feel comfortable...socks can help in that sense, so yeah, if I'd wear them I'd wear them with socks.

No sandals, period. Bare feet as soon as I come home, but socks and comfortable shoes when I'm out.

If you're in shorts, no socks, period. Long pants with socks looks okay to me, but my gf disagrees very strongly. I think I'll wear that combination regularly now, just to irritate her

How silly. Just tell her to be thankful you aren't a clown or a drag queen.

Wearing socks in sandals defeats the whole purpose of wearing sandals! Around here everyone will think you look odd with socks on. I do wear sandals with pants to get a semi-formal look. But I agree spadnos, if you got the smelly feet please wear socks

I used to wear socks and sandals just to keep my feet somewhat protected from suburbia. now i prefer boots. give me either some nice Altima's and i'll be happy.

What about thongs....err flipflops in the US vernacular.

Sandals and socks is just wrong, sock are for shoes, adding socks to sandals is negating the open air advantage of sandals(or thon...flipflops)

See, that's what I'm talking about...it's a pervading attitude, sometime based on:

sock are for shoes, adding socks to sandals is negating the open air advantage of sandals(or thon...flipflops)
When in fact sock may reduce the ventilation, but it's got to be healthier than shoes?

And btw, the voting ain't helping me win this argument with wifey

Here socks + sandals mean you're either a new immigrant from russia (dorky as hell) or a tourist from Japan.
The third option is that you're a complete dork (I have worse words in mind) with no social life whatsoever.

And therefore spend lots of time posting on forums?

see, up here at altitude it can be nice to wear socks with sandals just to help cut down on exposure to the randomly cold climate. at least, that is the other reason I liked to wear them. kinda sucked when the weather turned from nice to cold and you were stuck wearing sandals without socks for the rest of the day.

Wow I didn't know there were so many hard-core sandal haters out there! I did check that page thoroughly and no, I'm not on there (probably because of wifey...).

However, check ou the poll...only 1/3 who expressed a preference said no-socks!

PS, and yes, I did find the orange socks repulsive!
