I'll be frequenting this thread more often: participants beware! We've been close to here for three years now (between the "holiday" and new-year (or is that "new-holiday"?). Very nice area them east-cantons of belgium as most people speak german as well as oppsoed to just french. Well, it looks like a paint spill rather than a lava field, but i could be wrong. How about a riverbed that passes through some very red orange clay during rainy season. Since the black "soil" does look volcanic, i would have to guess somewhere on the ring of fire in Asia/ Russia. Kamchatka pennenisula perhaps ?
