  • It's a commemorative street statue for the person who created the character. Although it is not in Scotland, it has a nominal connection with the cathedral in the Royal Mile.

Sorry for late reply bur am convalescing, thus reducing on-line time.

There is also a capital clue in my previous post.

        • Do we have our very own IronMan now? I hope you get well soon.

This photo was taken from the cavalry. The place is still fully working.

          FT.

          • Tricky one. It looks like Victorian pseudo-Gothic architecture and the stonework is reminiscent of Yorkshire or thereabouts, but it could even be Ireland. Do the other buildings form part of a religious or a profane complex?

And I've been bionic for 19 years!

                • No. I took my own photo the other day, but can't find it right now. There's a pair of parallel stone staircases going up the hill to the cavalry, that I've not seen anything like before. Its like they built a nice wide staircase and decided to build a dry-stone wall up the centre of it!

The name of the place has something to do with large dogs and brandy.

Mount St. Bernard's Abbey is a Cistercian monastery of the Strict Observance (Trappists) near Whitwick in Leicestershire, England, founded in 1835. Its present Superior is Dom Joseph Delargy.

Wifey calls: will find something to add tomoorrow.

PS Calvary, not cavalry: nowt to do with horses.
