Thank god there is some allowance for fathers finally being made.
It is not a "Libbers" issue in reality (though some of them may claim it). It is about valuing fathers as parents. Woman's liberty is not furthered by giving them cart blanc in how and where children are raised. Hell, in this case, the woman was moving to follow some other man. How liberated is that?
Should the judge always decide that the kids should stay in the same place?
If either parent moves away, the kids will lose some contact with one parent. Whether it makes sense to change custody is still subject to the actual living conditions with either parent.
It makes sense that the judge should primarily be considering the welfare of the children, but it doesn't make sense that the parents should be forced to live in the same town, or that if the custodial parent moves, that they have to leave their kids behind.
