  • Erik initiated.....

    My son Erik was initiated this week into the ranks of SciFi fans. He watched, with great attention, in the span of a week;

    Terminator 1 & 2
    The Thing From Another World
The Day the Earth Stood Still
    War of the Worlds
    When Worlds Collide
    The Invisible Man
    Frankenstein & Son of Frankenstein
    The Wolf Man
    Day of the Triffids
IT, The Terror from Beyond Space (film the idea for Alien came from)

and a few others of similar ilk.

What gets me is that he actually remembers the vast majority of the story lines and really likes 'em at age 6. I know this because he keeps telling us about 'em incessantly

Not to mention adding to his lexicon things like "I'll be back", "hasta la vista, baby" and a few others

    Here we go.....

I've got to ask what you think about the suitability of some of those films for a 6 year old? T2 for example is an R rating in the USA...lowest age rating on IMDB is 12 for France.

I know all kids are different, but I think that one would really upset my six year old, in fact he would probably leave the room when it gets too intense!

                true, or any horror movies.
That kid is going to have some interesting dreams.

Transformers the movie, is a quality film.

What kind of SciFi list is it without Star Trek? Next week should be Trek week. Just leave out ST V, maybe VII and X. I & III were not quite as good as the others, but important to help understand some things in the better TOS crew movies.

Just show the even numbered Star Treks, and you're golden.

Let him read Stranger in a Strange Land, that'll really disturb him (it's a good book, BTW)
