Of course I don't approve of rape, but I wouldn't mind betting there is more rape, proportionally speaking, in the armed USA than there is in unarmed Europe. It is not a question of guns; they never kill anyone. It's the person behind the trigger who kills them. IMHO, the problem is one of mindset and there is a mindset of violence in the USA. This mindset is kill first and ask questions afterwards and this is dangerous when the mind behind a gun is thus set.
It is exactly the same mindset that pretexts knocking the bejabers out of the Iraqis and/or the Palestinians. IMHO, the reason the US Administration went to war before Blix and Co could finish their work was because they knew damn well that their pretext for violence would disappear into thin air, so they kill first and ask questions afterwards. And by kill, I mean that, according to a US study, ~100,000 Iraqis have met their end since the war was started, a greater rate of deaths than at any time in recent years under Saddam. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/mid...st/3962969.stm
As for your story about the girls, the way you recount it is sick. Yes there is a problem in the UK (Why do you think I left the UK some 41 years ago?). However, a lot of this has possibly come from the other side of the Pond. The UK is in a state of legislitis Ã_ l'américaine. I believe it is this that forces the Police and the DPP to do nothing unless they have a 500% water-tight case. However, arming the shopkeeper is not going to help, is it? Just think for 5 seconds what you said:
Don't you think that, if he killed or injured one of them, he would get this in trumps?
And, as you were a witness to the scene, did you help the shopkeeper make a citizen's arrest, while waiting for the police?
I fear that this will end up in the Temp Forum.

he's going to get a lot of vandlism and racial abuse from friends of these yobettes.
