Well unfortunately they brought back the sappy intro music for tonight's episode of Enterprise. It concerned a band of xenophobes led by Robocop (aka Chuck Taggart, Buckaroo Banzai, or just plain Peter Weller). Next week is a double-header finale which apparently includes some of the TNG crew.<TABLE BGCOLOR=Red><TR><TD><Font-weight="+1"><font COLOR=Black>The world just changed, Sep. 11, 2001</font></Font-weight></TR></TD></TABLE>

But seriously, the story's like this: I missed (too young) the 80's ocassions to watch it in cinema (the trilogy was one of few american productions allowed - being a fairytale not placed in our reality, and involving revolution against imperialists, it had no problems with censorship...). Since than it was really hard to watch it...you can have a choice of either renting 10 year old VHS or hunting for one-in-a-five-years showing on TV...and furthermore all this is complicated that I'd like to watch the true originals, and I can't seem to be able to find them on BT etc. in other form than DVD-R...but shhh, I didn't say that

This is turning into a Futurama episode!
Star Trek wars:
Several centuries after Star Trek's demise, it grew from a loose following of nerds with skin conditions to a full blown religion. Like anything that gains power, world leaders were scared stiff of the idea and banned the show and movies. This prompted the Star Trek Wars*. The followers lost and the remaining members were killed in volcanoes and the tapes were sent to Omega 3, the forbidden planet.
* Not to be confused with the Star Wars Trek, the mass pillgrimage of Star Wars followers.

Dead man walking!
I'll be tuning into tonight to watch the execution. I've got to run out and buy another disk so I can free up some room to record it (HDTV capture).
CNN has a decent article about it's demise that seems to sum up most people's opinions.<TABLE BGCOLOR=Red><TR><TD><Font-weight="+1"><font COLOR=Black>The world just changed, Sep. 11, 2001</font></Font-weight></TR></TD></TABLE>

Re: Harry vs. Harvey Mudd ... we have Harvey Mudd College in California and I always think of Harry Mudd when I hear that. I guess that connection got crossed when I posted.
The second to last episode was a good one with a nice mix of elements to make it successful. The finale was flat and uninspired and generally a yawn.
Sounds like they're really going to put this to rest for a while with no plans of any follow on. We'll have to wait for a new crop of network execs to come into power and some time to pass before there will be a push to revive the series. It doesn't look like its going to happen for at least several years, if at all.
R.I.P. Star Trek.<TABLE BGCOLOR=Red><TR><TD><Font-weight="+1"><font COLOR=Black>The world just changed, Sep. 11, 2001</font></Font-weight></TR></TD></TABLE>
