What were Padmé’s last words? We think it was something like “he’s still there”.

      "There is still hope..."

You know, cause there's still good in Anakin.

She's trying to tell Obi-Wan that Anakin still has some good in him.

She says, "Obi-Wan... there's good in him... I know... I know there's still..." And then she dies. Tear.

But don't they believe Anakin to be dead?!!! Seems like a goof to me.

I just watched the scene again. She emphasized the word "him", while Obi-Wan was holding Luke. Maybe she meant that there was "Good" in Luke. And maybe she was trying to say that there was still hope... (Ep 4 is called "A New Hope"...) Anyway, her exact words are quoted above. Read into them what you like.

Good in Luke?? That doesn't make any sense, I think she was referring to Anakin all along. Even Luke knew there was still good in him.

Hey, I'm just putting it forward as a possible theory. The way she said "him", and the gesture she made with her eyes, it could be interpreted as her indicating Luke.

Ha ha, you'll need to pay $10 to see it again just to know what I'm talking about! And the moment goes by so fast that you'll probably have to sit through a later show just to triple check. And you still won't be convinced. Maybe a script will leak onto the net. If not, I think that we'll have to wait for the DVD to be released before we know conclusively.

Personally, I think assuming she meant Anakin makes more sense, the trouble is that everyone thought he was dead at the time... The more I think about it, the more I want her to have meant Luke, it just fits better.

Why doesn't it make sense for her to assume that there's good in her new born son? And Luke was gambling!

Knowing Lucas's penchant for revisionism, even with the DVD's subtitles, we might not know conclusively.

It doesn't make sense for her to say there's good in her newly born baby, that'd normally a given. If she had instead shouted "Kill it, it's EVIL!" the conclusion that she's talking about the baby would make more sense.

Stop being apologetic about Lucas's terrible writing, it's not your fault it doesn't make sense.

I'm going to refer to the new ones as the "Star Wars parody" from now on.

Obi-wan is the shit. thats why hes better then all the rest. he could have taken out Vader the 2nd time too he just chose not to so Luke would be upset he died.

-what was the conversation about at the end when C3P0 was talking to R2D2 and it ended with C3P0 saying "oh dear"? I think it had something to do with where they were going.

Bail Organa ordered C-3PO's memory to be erased at the end of Episode III when he gives the droids to Captain Antilles.

thats why CP30 was like "oh dear, what have i done" or something like that.

BAIL ORGANA, followed by ARTOO and THREEPIO, approaches CAPTAIN ANTILLES and TWO CREW MEMBERS.

                      BAIL ORGANA: Captain Antilles.

                      CAPTAIN ANTILLES: Yes, Your Highness.

BAIL ORGANA: I'm placing these droids in your care. Treat them well. Clean them up. Have the Protocol Droid's mind wiped.

                      C-3PO: Oh, no.

I believe she was talking about her adoptive mother .

Here's another question: Why Luke Skywalker? I mean, just imagine what would have happened if Vader got bored and did a search for "Skywalker" in the Imperal Taxpayer Database or whatever? Leia was given the last name of her adopted parents, why not Luke? For that matter, why even let him know he was adopted Another thing, were they assuming the force (ugh) would go ahead and force a situation where they'd end up having to learn about the ways of a Jedi to defeat the Emperor and Vader? 'Cause from the way it looked in the movies Obi-Wan and Yoda were just gonna let Luke and Leia live out their lives without ever knowing anything even if it ment them getting killed by the Empire.

maybe because Luke was actually given to family? and also Leia was given to people in the public view. Luke was basically living on a dirt farm in the middle of nowhere.

But they weren't Skywalkers, their family name was Lars.

Ick, pontificating about Star Wars isn't something I had intended to do.

How about a good question we call all agree to wonder about: Why to "battle" droids make goofy "ouch" sounds when hurt?

i believe Obi-wan wasnt going to let anything happen to Luke. im sure he knew he might need him later on if they were going to stop what was happening. The Jedi were in hiding.. they werent in hiding forever.
