GM could take a lesson or two from the other manufacturers. The 2009 Camaro concept could use a little more design work. The Challenger concept, on the other hand, looks great!

The Lamborghini Muira Concept is very nice apart from the wheels which are hideous

The Pontiac Solstice is real nice too, unfortunately GM have dropped plans to make a right hand drive version

I really really like the Vanquish. And the closed Volvo. Then again, I like all new Volvos that look like they're Volvos (there's this one model that just looks a tad too soft, too generic). And I would have liked their YPC.

They need to build that Challenger.. and toss in the 425HP Hemi Engine from the SRT8.

BTW, I'm torn between that Aston Martin Racer and the Porsche Cayman. Just to be more understated, I'll take the Cayman I guess.

That 4-door Aston Martin is just beautifull...
I also like the new Volvo convertible (hardtop, very impressive the way it folds open/closes)

But such shows make me sad: for years we have seen gorgeous prototypes, but when the manufacturer says "we'll put it in production", it suddenly looks all plain...

The Challeneger is nice, but its an Near Copy of a 1970 Challenger and not to mention its a friggen pig weighing in at 4100 lbs! There isnt much they can do with it after its in production for a couple years.
Why is it called tourist season, if we can't shoot at them?

A lot of beautiful cars there, but there's also a HUGE proportion that should never have made if off the drawing board, or maybe the paper got screwed going through the photocopier?

That's the idea, of course. Detroit is all about retro styling these days. The Boomers all want to drive cars that look like the cars their dads and uncles and the cool bachelor next door drove when they were kids.

4100 lbs is a LITTLE extreme, though. Wonder how much of that is engine?

According to my cousin, a Chrysler design engineer, Detroit concepts are most always heavier than production versions due to their prototype nature. Once the production guys get involved weight usually drops significantly.

I wouldnt hold my breath, I know the production Mustang Shelby GT500 weighs in at nearly 3700-3800 lbs. Since the Challenger concept is pretty spot on to what the production version is going to be (its based on the LX platform that the 300/Charger 4Dr is on), I dont seem them stripping out 400-500lb from the car.

The point I was making is that the car is an near excact copy of a 1970 Challenger. The current Mustang styling is influnced by the 65-68 models, but its not a near carbon copy like the Challenger is. The problem with this is where do they go with the styling after a couple years? they quit making the Challenger in the early 70's right?

What law says it has to change? It's not quite a carbon copy.. a lot more aero.. and I'm sure the chassis is modern. They could certainly make a much lighter one using lighter materials.. for a premium price.
