Of those I've only seen O'Dell. I'm usually focused on getting my favourites and getting out so I can enjoy them.
The Liquor store has a few imported versions, and the beer store carries about 300 different varieties.
You can check out what it carries here .
I'm very partial to the Sleeman brands - they've actually got some flavour to them.
Oh, and my usuall beer of choice state side is Sam Adams.Yeah, well I'm gonna build my own lunar space lander! With blackjack aaaaannd Hookers! Actually, forget the space lander, and the blackjack. Ahhhh forget the whole thing!

It still amazes me that people 'here' (there at the moment) can get drunk off of the dirty water they call beer. See guys at the bars who've had all of 3 longnecks staggering about.
I prefer Guinness when I'm in country. My distaste for general American beer (as in Coors, Bud, etc) stems more from the taste than any alcohol content. Outside of those we have some excellent choices in alcoholic beverages of the beer and lager variety.Last edited by Jessterw; 24 March 2006, 21:51.“And, remember: there's no 'I' in 'irony'†~ Merlin Mann

that's what i said
Currently i'm very fond of Alexander Keith's (from Nova Scotia), Rickard's Red and Molson Canabian
I remember the first time i was down in the states drinking (in my youth). the first american beer (and prolly the last) i had came back up 20 seconds after it went down. of coarse that pegged me as a canadian instantly in the bar I was at. apperently vomiting is quite commun with most canadians who visit./meow

Well I meant that in terms of the alcohol content present in the beverages of that sort in Oklahoma and other states that limit the % to a very low amount. If you've only had American beer of the Coors, Bud, and like varieties then you've missed out.“And, remember: there's no 'I' in 'irony'†~ Merlin Mann

Demon beer is 12%, and i think you can get Tennants Super in the UK, which is stupidly strong. I have only ever seen tramps drinking it..
I loved "World of Beers" in Manchester, where you could get just about any kind of beer, from anywhere in the world, and most of the empty bottles could be returned in exchange for a small amount of money, which allows more beer to be bought!!!

Originally posted by WombatYes, there is. But you've changed the question. It's publically accessible space, so the police can still go in and enforce laws without a warrant, but it's also privately owned space, and covered by liquor permits. But those are two different purposes. I don't know how to explain that. You might as well ask why a restuarant owner should be allowed to ban smoking, even though it's legal outside.

You guys haven't even begun to mention great beers.
Deschutes Brewery is an award winning craft beer and hand crafted ales in Oregon. Over the years, Deschutes Brewery has expanded beyond the original pub with a brewery and tasting room less than a mile across town on the banks of the Deschutes River in Be
Terminal Gravity IPA
When the fall hops comes in there's a holiday brew fest where most beers are 12% ABV. They put up a big tent on the central square in Portland and a lot of people get drunk. If they ever arrested people in bars here there would be a riot.
Guinness is a light dark beer to me. I enjoy it but would rather go for a Black Butte most of the time since it's better and usually slightly cheaper.
Anchor Steam is good.
New Belgium, Pyramid and Sierra Nevada are okay, but usually there's better ones on tap.
Rogue I've only liked one of their beers. Sat at one of their brewery-restaurants and tried a few different ones. Many seem to like the Shakespeare Stout (chocolate stout) but not me.

Well, you can't really speak for whole Europe, and neither do I (so it's obvious about which place I'm speaking about).
That said: of course, that's the whole point - I wanted to say that the only relevant thing when it comes to drinking is whether something is fully public place or not, doesn't matter who owns it (from top of my head I can give you at least one publicly owned (public property) place where you can get drunk: bar in parliament)

Having worked in a bar in Canada as a bouncer, I have seen the cops on one of their walkthroughs, arrest one of our patrons for being drunk. He most defenitely was drunk, and they took him away. Just to say they do the same here.We have enough youth - What we need is a fountain of smart!

Don't be to quick to slag off the American beers. I have had some good beer in the states. Most of it a lot better than the gut-rot-piss they sell in Britain and Ireland. If you want bad beer go to one of these country's and order any pint of slop they have on tap. Of course there are exceptions, like any other country.
