I sent the article off to tier 3 support to have a look see. He agreed that it looked like a D600 series latitude laptop. I'm suddenly glad I dumped mine for a Toshiba M3. We had quite a few problems with the D600s (especially with the 40 GB Hitachi mobile deathstar HDDs and the $#!**% PCMCIA slot that broke if you sneezed too hard and Dell refused to repair under warranty even though it was there fault for bad engineering). The D610s seem much better so far though. Still no reports of one blowing up.
