And your stupid ad hominem is dignified?

However, I have never denied that terrorism a threat. All I was doing was throwing a hypothesis that it is too easy to mask government actions for ulterior motives, based on a pure fiction. And don't tell me that it has never been done. One that immediately comes to mind is the WMD pretension to invade an oil-rich country and remove an embarrassing person. Too bad it has totally backfired, spawning worse than it has helped to cure.

It may not have been dignified, but IMO it was overdue.

As for your conspiracy theory: would you rather wait for the planes to fall before saying "oops, maybe we need to do something!"? The UK thought that way about domestic secuity until last July, at which time they were shaken awake very rudely.

Oh...by the way: most neutral security analysts now believe that the WMD's were there but taken to Syria in a 50 truck convoy in the weeks leading to the invasion. One of the senior officers in Saddams army blew the cover on that one last year, and recently declassified Iraqi documents pretty much confirm what he says.

Was it unfortunate that an innocent man was killed by UK police? Of course, but how much of that was his fault for not stopping when commanded to do so? Don't know about you but when a crowd of SWAT police point their weapons at me and yell in whatever language I drop and assume the position

I think you PC side is developing paranoia which is clouding your judgement.

I guess the Government paid the pilots to fly into the Towers.

I guess the Tube Station bombers were paid by the Government and did the Videos in a hidden Government studio.

I guess the demostrators that carried hate signs were paid by the Government.

I guess Captain Hook gets paid by the Government (Well he does in Benifits) to do those hate speeches which he now arrested for.

In Sheffield close to I live three very nice people got arrested for terrorism. One was freed the others sent down. One thing you don't hear in media is praise for the succesfully arrests. They just get forgotten also you only hear about the big operations.

I suppose some will come out that this is a cover operation so Israel can bash the hell out of Hamas without it being reported.

This is what I don't understand. If there are exceptions, the terrorists will just use those exceptions. I'm sure they have plenty of kids around to travel with too, so the formula won't look out of place...

Baby formula can required to be brought on board as a powder, and in that form TATP has a very acrid smell that would give it up. Not only that but most forms of powdered TATP are so shock sensitive (more so than nitroglycerine) that in a tactically useful amount it's likely to go off spontaneously before arriving at the airport

Sealed insulin bottles are an unlikely source and too small in quantity (10cc full) to be tactically useful; most people's dose is a fraction of a CC.

Not just going to the UK, anywhere. LAX is a mess today with a LONG line outside the terminal. They're even confiscating makeuo & other cosmetic liquids.

Peoblem is conspiracies like this will be harder to track here now that the NY/LA Times & Wall Street Journal have blown the cover on money tracking & suspects communication monitoring

GT98 in a month it may have quietened down. Still we could just let you on the Plane without any checks.

Announced today that in the US the increased security is extremely unlikely to be lifted anytime soon, and it's being applied to domestic flights as well as international.

UPDATE: they have 21 in custody and are hunting another 30

My point is that they're not requiring that. Baby bottles are allowed when filled with white liquid.

Anyway, I guess this will make my 17 hour flight to Malaysia lots of fun next month. I usually bring a large water bottle with me.

Even liquid formula is testable by smell. That stuff is nasty.

Great! Just in time for my first vacation in 5 years, we're flying out in 2 1/2 weeks.
It's a domestic flight at least, we were going to go for a wedding in Europe around same time, but we’ve settled on WDW in Florida.
It’s more like a vacation for the kids, not us… .

Conspiracy theories involving the government used to amuse me. Now they just bore me.

Why would you (you being "the government") stage such an attack when, as TX said, there are plenty of willing malcontents ready to do it for you? If you're going to stage something, why not stage something BIG? Nothing to whip the populous into a fire-breathing blood-thirsty war machine like having 10 airliners falling out of the sky, killing more people than died on 9-11. Simple mayhem is much cheaper and easier to stage than a big police bust involving hundreds of officers and dozens of suspects. Gets better results, too.

The next obvious question is, if the government could have staged the 9-11 attack, couldn't they have plant WMDs in Iraq? Why wouldn't they? As far as public opinion was concerned, they had nothing to lose. If they're evil enough to do those things why would they STOP this attack? If the government is UNABLE or UNWILLING to use such fakery, Why would they try to fake this? What makes anyone think they're competent enough to pull off anything more elaborate? Or is the IJC or the Illuminatii pulling the strings? It's a bottomless pit of illogic. Enough, I say!

A wise man once said, "Where conspiracies exist they are almost never suspected, and where they're suspected they almost never exist."

My flight to guam next month is not going to be that exciting either, worse still, my return flight takes off about 4am, not looking forward to the early start.
