That is awesome on pump pee. The imports that run here need 100+ octane to hit over 400whp, and that is at 25+ PSI

I'm pretty sure they said they upped the pressure another 4.5 PSI to get it over 1000.Originally posted by gt40It actually will run fine on pump gas , but it only makes 832 HP

yes, which facilitated the use of the racing fuel to prevent detonation at that boost pressure.

Joe’s car has been on the street since its completion and all is going well. He is on his second drum of race gas. That is all he will run in the car now because he cannot bring himself to lower the boost.Last edited by gt40; 13 November 2006, 14:10.Yeah, well I'm gonna build my own lunar space lander! IIRC from my old wrench-turning days, putting a turbocharger on anything with >9:1 compression will result in an engine with a VERY short operational lifespan (unless motor technology has improved substantially, which it no doubt has). With two turbos etc. on that kind of engine it's highly likely to be unleaded. The supercharged DOHC Ford Modular V8 in the Ford GT ran about 8.4:1 and only produced 550 bhp.

the compression was left as stock (8.4:1), but I doubt this fellow cares about the lifespan of the motor.
He seems the type to burn money as fast as he burns rubber

Spot on Kevin. >9:1 with that kind of boost would have put his engine heads in competition fo the X-PrizeOriginally posted by KRSESQIIRC from my old wrench-turning days, putting a turbocharger on anything with >9:1 compression will result in an engine with a VERY short operational lifespan (unless motor technology has improved substantially, which it no doubt has).
