Will throwing the boy in juvi really solve anything? Needless to say that there's thouands of children in Californaia with easy access to matches. So where's the real problem here? Every time I've I heard about California battling with wildfires, seems like they keep asking for other countries to send them CL-415's and C-103's. Why isn't California equiped with these types of aircraft in the first place? (assuming they don't have any)

They've got em, they just don't use em. There's been big controversy over the last week about all the fire fighting planes sitting on the tarmacs, while the fires blazed away.

Then throw the parents in jail. Something like this shouldn't just be deemed an accident and nobody held accountable when the cause is known.

Also, one of the other fires was determined to be arson. I think they're still looking for the suspect.

Seriously, if it was a young kid playing with matches, then it is a sad accident. If of an age when the kid, with respect to his mental health, could be expected to know better, then he should be punished, probably best by his parents. I think grounding for 6 months would hit him harder than anything a court could do (unless they fitted a GPS bracelet to achieve the same end).
