I think we'll end up with a Silent Night bed for around £700-£800.
Yesterday, 9am, we took a 'quick' trip back to Ikea to order the wardrobes. I figured I could spare 2 hours while the kids were at school. Got back at 13:45, having discovered that you can't 'order' anything from an Ikea store (they are strictly cash and carry) , with half the stuff in an overladen car and having been stuck in horrendous traffic. As to the stuff that wasn't in stock (including several items they thought were in stock), you can't order or reserve that. The best you can do is ring up, insist that they check the warehouse to be sure it is there then race the 30 miles to the store and hope no-one else has bought it in the meantime. Yesterday was a VERY stressful day.
