I never thought I'd see a scooter trumping over SUVs when it comes to dealing with certain complexes ;P

Even if the cannon is recoil-less, I'm damned if I'd want to sit astride such an object firing. After the third round, you would thereafter be firing blanks for the rest of your life!

The Operative in Recoilless Rifle is "recoilless": but that is not quite true in actual fact.... they DO have a fair amount of recoil, but nowhere near as much as if it were a sealed breech cannon firing the same projectile at the same velocity.

Recoilless Rifles have always been fairly dangerous: stand behind one and get fried, stand in front of one and get shot. Fire one dud round or suffer a mishap and get blown into tiny pieces: Foreign material in the front of the gun, or the rear, or a defective thrust/recoil nozzle (#1 cause of RR failures) and BOOM, you and the rest of the gun crew, are turned into ground mystery meat because the barrel of a Recoilless Rifle are not meant to bear but a fraction of the pressure a conventional cannon is.

This is why RPGs and other shoulder-fired rockets have gained favor from armed services around the world: they are a lot safer to use, are generally quite a bit lighter and nearly as accurate as a Recoilless Rifle.

So you mean to say that owning such scooter would be a blast?

Speaking from Experience: If you ever went to Vespa/Lambretta club ride, you could be sure there would be somebody there who actually go looking for one to buy.

I don't know why, but whenever I read Vespa, I think Segway. So I was thinking a Segway with a cannon...

How about a segway and a machine gun? Or a whole bunch of them coming at you like this...

Ah, ha! So, that Chinese S.W.A.T. team we caught ridin' dirty on Segways earlier this week actually had a reason to be carrying on like they were -- they were performing anti-terrorist drills in preparation for security during the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Comically enough, the drill was said to be one of "rapid deployment," though we aren't told how many spills were taken when officers tried to actually maneuver one of these things around, aim at a target, pull a brown bag down around their head and keep it from spontaneously reversing. Just one question guys: what's with the tiny guns?[Via CNET]
