    Trace complete.
It took forever for the IP address of number 17 to appear (although this is not reflected in the showed times. The traceroute completed successfully, and I could access MURC again.

Yup! That's the same bottleneck as I experienced in my previous posts.

Over the last few days, I've been observing the behaviour of the forum. I consistently get problems every day between 10.00 and 10.45 local time (08.00 and 08.45) GMT, sometimes later. Most often, these result in
        Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@murc.ws and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
If I don't get this, between these times, it will take tens of seconds to respond, whether to access, change a page, post etc.

At other times, it is usually, but not always, OK. I did not have the problem with the old server.

Sadly I'm still in the office, and been suffering end of year rush the last week or two.
