And the other thing, it is probably the best source of plant fibre suitable for paper, ropes etc.
But since it has blanket ban , instead we use tree woodchips for paper, and other non-renewable resources for rope, fabrics etc.

And it really does grow like a weed.
Banning fibre varieties as well really is delusional thinking.
