Which lends support for the idea that some catastrophic event in Mars' early history created the Hellas basin and Alba Mons, and in the process blew away most of the planet's atmosphere and hydrosphere. Phobos and Deimos are probably aggregated from the material that was blasted into space, including quite a bit of the water.
Maybe THAT'S where we should be looking for evidence of early life.

It's actually quite regular for an asteroid (if Phobos and Deimos were captured...). Look up on wiki "contact binaries".Originally posted by Evildead666 View Post
