I was looking for more pictures of the city to add as clues and I found this one. It's almost the exact image I had in my mind of the highway. I'll always remember this view from the back of my parents car as we drove home at night.

Not a good clue, I know. But keep guessing.

Edit: looking back at the first pic, that would fit - it's the only city I've been to with huge piles of earth/mines so close to the centre... although I can't make out if any of those tower blocks are that wierd diamond-shaped one... and also the surroundings seem a little too flat.. oh well who knows?
