Is it a windmill ruin? I would have started with somewhere in the UK, but the painted driving direction on the road seems to suggest right-hand driving. Denmark?
Guess where this is?

I did say it may be trickier! Clue #1 When first built, it had its foot in the water.Brian (the devil incarnate)

Neither Netherlands nor a lighthouse. Clue #2: It is not as old as it looks.Brian (the devil incarnate)

Not a toilet (at least intentionally!), not part of a moated castle. Clue #3: It was built about 1825 or thereabouts by the Member of Parliament for Ipswich some 950 km ±100 km (my guess) by road from his constituency.Brian (the devil incarnate)

Yes but where in Switzerland? We know that it is in the French-speaking area that eliminates 2/3 of the country, that it must be near water, perhaps on reclaimed land, that it was built by the MP for Ipswich, therefore presumably an Englishman, around 1825 and that I lived within about 10 km of it for 35 years.
I suggest that there must be enough info there to suss it out. If not, I'll give you one more clue.Brian (the devil incarnate)
