    I have some news!!!
I'm working at a local computer dealer and just today we received our first Marvels. So I did my work. First I tried my Marvel in another computer. You won't be surprised that there were green lines. But - by the way - they appeared very rare.
I think you now, what I did now: I tried one of the new Marvels in my computer, and I'm sure you want to know, what happened...... ;-)

OK - here it is: the other card works fine! I tried only for some minutes and so I'm not absolutely sure, but I really think, the lines are gone now. So I'm very happy and you can suppose, that your cards are faulty :-(

Well I tried my G200 BOB and no change but by the sounds of it there are faulty cards around.

Lets hope that this can be confirmed as soon as possible as I was about to give up and go back to my trusty G200!

OK - I tried now for a longer time and I saw not a single line. Everything seems to be alright now, so I'm sure, my card was faulty.

Excuse the facetiousness around an apparently serious subject, but

            CONGRATULATIONS
on such a long thread maintained over a long time AND having got Matrox involved!

Has there been any update on this? Do I need to see about getting my card replaced?

              Thanks

Now I'm capturing and playing around for 6 days and everything is cool! With the new card I never saw a green line. So I think all the cards with these lines are faulty. Sorry guys!

                  Hi!
I'm a little bit surprised about the conclusion (faulty boards). I see the same green stripes on the screen of PC-VCR with my Marvel G400 (bought in December last year), only when I select the "Line" input from the PC-VCR menu.
No green lines if I select "File", and I see a previously captured file.
I can see them from time to time, and especially if the video I capture has a low quality from itself, or, if there isn't any real video source connected to the box.
I suppoded this is an open issue (green flashes visible on TV output) that Matrox has declared to be aware of in the readme document of videotools (since version 1.51).
So could be a driver fault or a video tool fault.
But, anyway, should it be a hardware fault, what is the procedure to follow to have the card fixed?
                  Bye

                    daniele greco,

The green flash on the TV (reported in the driver readme) and the green line that some of you have seen are two different things.
We are still looking into why this is happening.
If it turns out to be a driver issue this will certainly be fixed but if's hardware then your recourse will be to contact Matrox for an RMA.

                    • I'll enter my observations here again on my green lines....

Only appear when playing clips in MediaPlayer or using PC-VCR. Will also appear even if the clip is paused, but just as randomly as during playback.

Quicktime playing of clips does not have green lines. (even the same clips).

If anyone at Matrox wants to check out what I'm talking about, I'm in N.D.G.

                      Cheers

                      • I spoke to Matrox Tech Support in the Uk today and explained the whole situation. I see green flashes all the time whether it is TV output or video output both in the video window and the on the TV.

The person I spoke to was completely baffled and had no idea of what the problem might be so his conclusion was "must be a faulty card, return it to where you bought it from".

Very inconvenient but at least I can put my G200 back in the meantime.

                        • So still no response from Matrox then about this problem? I have put my G200 back in as I am returning the G400 for a replacement...no green flahses, everything perfect. I am beginning to wonder why I bothered upgrading to a G400 at all!

                          • Anyone looked in this new Matrox Forum? There are two guys with the same problem and no one answers. Especially no Matrox member...
I tried, to tell them, where to find the REAL forum ;-] but I'm too stupid (?). I received my password, but to answer I need a second one. Strange.

                            • I just bought a Marvel G400 last week, and I also have these annoying flashes when playing MJPEG files (on TV and in the overlay window on my computer monitor).
Whoever likes to take a look: I put some details with screenshots on the web: http://www.joepen.de/marvel.htm

If a solution can't be found within the next couple of days, I will have to return the card to my dealer and exchange it for a new one.

I also mailed tech support to clarify if I am getting the same flashes as the ones being mentioned in the driver release notes.

I just want to get rid of these flashes, because the Marvel is - or could be - a great card.

                              • Speed Pete,

I am stupid too obviously as I registered with the official forums, received my password but then was asked for a 'forum password' to reply to anything, which I did not have?

Anyway, no responses on the green flashes business from Matrox on official forum.
