  • Let's get to know each other ... slightly off topic!

Hello MURC users. I have been a member of this board for a few months now and I can't tell you how enjoyable it is to logon and see the video editing issues we all have and how they can be resolved.

What I thought would be interesting is for all the users to tell us a little more about themselves. No, I'm not some weirdo from down under, just interested to know about the background/qualifications of our regular users.

So, I'll kick it off ...

    Name: Rod
    Occupation: Bank Manager
    Country: Australia
Family: Married with 4 month old baby girl
    Interest: Video editing (doh?), Computers
What do you video?: Home movies on camcorder
How long worked with video: 12 months
    Video Qualif/Level: Beginner
    Rating of this forum: Excellent
How often do you visit: Almost daily
Any other comments: Does Doc ever sleep?

OK, got the idea. Nothing too personal, just a little insight about yourself and why you visit this forum.

    Rod

Location: Toronto Ontario Canada, 5 hours away from Matrox, 3 if I was driving my Maserati

Interests: Computers, NLE, Networking, Cars, and teasing our neibourly friends in Quebec "Haig" and our friends in vacouver "Patrick" especially when the Leafs win against the Habs and Canucks

Interesting, looks like I'm in the low rent district compared to you guys.

                        Name: Andrew Sciascia III

                        Occupation: Broadcast Engineer for USAF

                        Country: Germany (for now)

Family: Married with a 2 year old boy (no I did not name him the IV)

Interests: Golf, Computers, music, fixing things (I am a real tinkerer)

What do you video: Good question, nothing really, I do the vid-edit thing just to become a little more proficient at work. I see enough video at work. I am a trus mainenance guy, I can make it work, but I lack the creative edge.

How long worked with video: 10 years analog, 5 years digital

Video Qualif/Level: Analog-Expert (not to brag, but I'm good), Digital-remedial (I'm learning thanks to you guys)

How often do you visit: atleast once a day, usually much more

Other Comments: I'm trying to setup an FTP server so that my Mother can download .mpg's of her grandson. This is a new, frustrating experience. I'm using Cable modem, but I can't get others to connect. I figure that Doc will tell me what I'm doing wrong (as usual) and fix me right up. Little bit of advice to all, if Doc says something, take it as gospel, I have yet to see him wrong about something.
