The PAL8045T looks good, I think I will get one too as soon as I get the money for an Athlon XP mobo+processor. I'll take one with a nice medium-speed fan, because the two Y.S. Tech fans on my Globalwin VOS32 are starting to get on my nerves... Just checked the Y.S. Tech homepage and the fans are rated at 35 dB(A) each >><<
All you noise wimps are a bunch of weenies!!! Try working on a machine floor for a while and you'll learn to appreciate the little bit these PCs put out. Ah, the good 'ol days in the glass house. The floor manager would walk around with ear muffs. I guess the operators had to do without to keep an ear open for crashing disks. I could see minimizing the noise if you're building a HTPC system but why the strife over a workstation? I opted to make sure my system was cool and long lasting. My case has two 120mm fans (intake and outflow) along with the PS fan. The CPUs have both been retail Pentium !!!s with stock HSFs. I don't OC though.

Before my Genuine Abit Quality™ mainboard died I had:
-Main system with VOS32 with the 2 above mentioned loud 6 cm fans, 2x12 and 1x8 cm case fans, power supply fan, blue orb and 2x7200 RPM hard drives in RAID 0
-Another system with dual Athlon fans, 2x12 and 1x8 cm + power supply fans and one helluva noisy old Maxtor hard drive
I slept <1,5 meters from these systems while they were crunching DivX, Genome or whatever...
Oddly, I seem to sleep better now with just one system running
I forgot some of you folks sleep with your computers. My office is several rooms down the hall from the bedroom. If I wanted to quiet the home more I'd first look at doing something about the fridge.
