Try working on a machine floor for a while and you'll learn to appreciate the little bit these PCs put out. Ah, the good 'ol days in the glass house.
The floor manager would walk around with ear muffs. I guess the operators had to do without to keep an ear open for crashing disks. I could see minimizing the noise if you're building a HTPC system but why the strife over a workstation? I opted to make sure my system was cool and long lasting. My case has two 120mm fans (intake and outflow) along with the PS fan. The CPUs have both been retail Pentium !!!s with stock HSFs. I don't OC though.
