    Yeah, same here.

I like simple ideas like that one, keeps the fault tolerance pretty low compared to other watercooling systems and this thing looks pretty decent.

dissaster - got the aquagate this morning, tried to fit it this evening and discovered that the waterblock/pump/resevoir all in one bad boy was so big that it wont fit on my DFI ultra infinity motherboard without knocking 3 caps off completely.

The actual thing looks pretty cubstantial. Am now working on making a custom fitment, as it would fit if it were mounted half a centimeter off center - its just a case of lining everything up and making the attatchment strong enough to hold. Pain in the bum.

So caution - make sure your motherboard has pleanty of space around the socket before buying this.

But, but...it's for the masses, without the hassle, so that Joe Blow can install it - a plug and go solution. The easiest watercooling up to date, not faulty solution which uncomplicated the whole thing, without any problems. Not to mention that everyone except Naysayers know that they wouldn't release a watercooling design for the masses if they hadn't thought up of a secure installation method, that it's a top notch stuff, done correctly, best option for someone who doesn't want the hassle - not only better...significantly better! It's awesome solution, a great product that can't fail, it's safer/easier to use, the one that can only make his buyer happy!!!

Brian, I should really add those "devil in training" line to my sig, don't you think?

            Yeah...and few times it backfired

If you had read the reviews before you bought it, you'd have already known that.

              Sample:

The page you requested could not be found. Browse our buying guides and reviews from the homepage or category hubs.

First off, the size of the waterblock will require a motherboard with good clearance around the CPU. No matter what CPU type you have, the motherboard will need to be removed from the case for installation of the waterblock.

Another problem I found was the tubing interfered with the memory installation of the first bank. In fact, the tubing was so close to the heatspreaders I could see the tubing slightly constrict. However, I had to install the memory module before I mounted the waterblock, which makes future installations of memory difficult without first removing the waterblock.

correct - the memory thing was mute on mine though as the dimms are mounted far away from the CPU. Should have checked the area around the socket though - thought that if it took a massive thermaltake copper HS this would be a piece of piddle. Still wont take much modding. Should have it done before the weekend.

You need to post some pics and results when you are done

well the modding is done. Took me about half hour including diging out the tools from the garage.
                    here are the pictures:

the first picture shows the athlon XP attatchment on the right and a P4 attatchment on the left. I had to hack-saw off one half of the xp attatchment to allow it to be shifted about half a centimeter to one side, and drilled some new holes out. I then hacked off the attatchment points on the P4 attatchment with the idea of using this to anchor the modded xp fitment on.

the second picture shows how the xp attatchment would fit if not moved, ie dead centre of the waterblock.

the third picture shows the xp fitment screwed down with the modded P4 fitment used to hold it in place. It holds it really well, far better than i had anticipated. I thougt i was going to have to use glue as well but this was not neccesary.

the final picture shows the bits that i hacked off.

will post results when i fit it tomorrow. The cpu will no longer make contact in the very centre of the waterblock, but the surface of the block is large so hopefully this will not matter too much.

dissaster - the DFi motherboard had been giving me troubles for months now, sometimes needing 3 boots just to get past the bios screen. I guess it just couldnt take being removed one more time and is now dead, and im slightly concerned that it may have taken the CPU with it too. Am now waiting on another DFi before i can proceed with this little adventure.

the saga continues - after killing the DFi, i bought another one second hand only to find that it was also dead when it arrived. Never buying DFi again, when it worked it was fantastic, but it decided not to work all to often for my liking, shame because the 3.3V on the ram was a nice feature for people with BH5 memory.

anyway, subsequently purchased an MSi neo2platinum motherboard with a amd 64bit venice 3200+. Installed the aquamini and it fired up first time. Have not had time to overclock but at stock speeds its running between 35C and 38C depending on load with a minimum fan speed. For reference the case is open at the moment and the thermometer on the chipset is returning 32C so the processor is pretty close to ambient i would say. will overclock this evening and post results.

Yeah, I've also this cool (no pun intended ) site
But it lists in case of K8 "Thermal design power", and in case of K7 "typical" and "maximum" power dissipation. How do these compare? (from the descriptions I guess "thermal design power" is closer to "maximum power dissipation", but I'm not sure... )
