Yeah, my father has it too...
Mind you, too sharp a hearing poses also problems, as many (household) devices emit frequencies that most people won't be able to hear. I've returned hifi equipment that was within spec, but still emitted a high tone white noise. When my Nokia phone is charging, I hear the charger emitting a high pitched tone!

Just came across an interesting external watercooling:
AquaDuct 360XT mark II (watercooling > external systems).

It gets very good reviews, and is said to be very quiet (even passive use possible). The software allows one to configure how it should behave (fans, ...). Running at max, it is capable of dissipating 700 W, the smaller models can manage up to 500 W.
