I see I'm late to the party, but here's how to fix the "dancing icon" effect - at least, until Matrox figures out how to correctly implement the "save icon positions" option.

Make sure that "save icon position" in the PD menu is unchecked, then:

In the registry, search for "desktopicon." That should get you to a registry key that describes matrox desktop icon options. You will see a subkey (or subkeys) that show resolutions. Delete the subkey that corrspeonds to the resolution you are having problems with. This subkey is generated whenever PD thinks you want to save the desktop icon positions. It doesn't seem to update the registry correctly, because even if you uncheck the box, reboot, then re-check it (presumably to save the new positions), it reverts back to the first time it was saved. Furthermore, it uses these locked positions even if you turn the feature off.

            It's very inconvenient.

            Bill

PS - I forget who it was that suggested this, but it's not my idea. I'd like to give full credit to that faceless person that figured it out.
