  • Jorden,

I don't think the pool is EMBM while it looks excatly the same on my G200. Or then it has it as an unlisted feature..
    A new conspiracy!

But really, looks like polygons to me which leads to a fact that it should look better with a GeForce

    • Or maybe there are not making any game!!!
You know most of the programmers in 3dMark are Swedish assembly demo programers.
If i'm not wrong they used to compete in the
      Assembly 96 competition!!!!
And in 3dmark they are just showing us how GOOD they are in programming

              • Thanks Agent. Very interesting indeed, we're on pretty similar CPU's, and it looks like your GF is about twice as fast as my overclocked MAX when moving polys around, and even the fill rate figures are impressive.

Another interesting thing is that your texture rendering drops pretty dramaticaly when the textures get bigger. Would your GF be on AGP1X?

                • Agent31, the only problem with your scores I have is with your CPU proformance... 326 that's about 90% higher than anyone else running the same cpu! What's your secret?

                  • Hmmmm???? I only get a CPU Mark of 206 with a P3 @ 616MHz. Agent get a 326 @ 560MHz.
There appears to be a few bugs in the new 3D Mark 2000.

                    • Suggestion, test your cpu with (ZiffDavis) CPUmark99 and also show your 3Drk2k cpu results using your G400. I'm really curious about this now!

                      • EH GADS!!! I post a little article and a few days later it is over 115 posts! I loaded 3DMark 2000 last night and ran it:

                        PIII @ 504 MHz
                        256 MB RAM
                        Matrox G400 32 MB, DH

                        2332 3DMarks

...which seems to be about average. BTW, the graphics for the 3D Mark 2000 kick some serious @$$!!!

                        • Himself, so what are you trying to tell me?? You've seen my helicopter game picture over one TSB... ????

Buuri, it might have something to do with:
                          3DMark2000 Demo Mode

The demo mode is an entertaining, non-interactive presentation containing never before seen effects in real time 3D graphics.

Just click on Run Demo from the welcome screen, or from the main 3DMark user interface. You can run the demo in any resolution you want. Remember also to check the Options. What could be better than to run 3DMark demo mode continuously in your cmputers?

                          Highlights:
                          • True multi-pass Radiosity Lighting using Max-FX Technology™
                          • Displacement mapping effect
                          • Cool Particle effects
                          • Massive real time scenery
                          • A mega-cool babe character
                          • Water effect with realistic physics and refraction effects
                          • Original sound track synchronized to the visuals
                          Just my 2 euro-cts

I've seen the demo 3 times and saw the same water-ripples every time. Is this true in EMBM or should it differ everytime?? If so, then it's not EMBM but pre-calculated "Water effect with realistic physics and refraction effects" ...

Jorden, still proud of his G400 32Mb DH

                            See my post here http://forums.murc.ws/ubb/Forum9/HTML/000092.html

Oh, and it is environ mapped. Just not bump mapped. Even classic Voodoo does plain e-mapping

                              • It's normal these days - a P3 can make your internet connection faster and a GF will make your CPU go faster. Just imagine what a new harddisk can do for your marriage...
