Thanks for the info Maggi! I'm definitely feeling better about my choice to go with an Athlon 550 instead of a Celeron 566! As Athlons keep getting cheaper, I can keep upgrading, at least until they stop selling the SlotA format altogether, at which point I guess the 1GHz should be really cheap.

but I use an Celeron 566 FC-PGA !!!

I just OCed it to 112MHz FSB ...

Oops, sorry Maggi, I just assumed that you were using a 'real' P3 by the chart. I didn't remember that when you overclock the processor doesn't always show correctly in Bios or something. Anyway!

I thought of overclocking, but it's not really my bag, especially since I'm getting a Tyan motherboard. I also read a review recently that showed a C566 @ 912 I think it was, just barely beating out a P3 650 in a whole slew of tests, but I guess not this one you have here! For my lower clock speeds, it seemed an Athlon 550 should run all over a Celeron 566 in pretty much everything, and they're about the same price.

My P3-700E is running at 868MHz not the 875MHz that 3DMark shows it as. G400 is not overclocked
