My vote is for the Matrox EPCs (Every Pixel Counts) KickAss 800. Just make sure its as fast as the GeForce 64's and not one iota of image quality is given up, nor is the dual-head option.

Someone better than ATi must step up and challenge nVidia. Otherwise, nVidia will sit back and fail to release in accordance with their artifical new product cycle. The masters of the $500 overpriced Q3 card, they will continue to sell limited function cards at extraordinarily inflated prices.

Unfortunately, I don't think it will be Matrox. I think they've given up on the gaming market.

And I'm still using a G200 16 MB SGRAM. Too stubborn to buy nVidia, too broke for a G400 MAX DH

I want my DDR FCRAM G800 MAX using the Kyro's HSR technique or bitboys eDram XBA technology - whatever the case may be!!

I just want the dad-gum product. Comon Matrox! Let sh!t on get off the pot.

I just bought my third DH enabled card. 2 G400MAX's and now a G450. Man, I love the 2D image quality and the beautiful DH feature. But, I'd love to start taking advantage of the newest games coming out with Uber framerates. FPS is not where Matrox excels..yet...it's all the other places. Gimme gimme gimme

We need speed but I don't think we need the huge kind like faster than the fastest card out there. If the card does hidden surface removal then speed of the card won't be as important. Also I like how long this thread has been living

              Galvin.

The implementation of HSR would be to make the card speedier. Speed is a overall rating, not just fillrate.

If implemented,it will make the card use it's available bandwith more effectively.

But the biggest difference that HSR will bring will be in games that are for the most part very fill rate dependant with lots of overdraw.

But there are other games out there like flight sims, that have practicaly no overdraw at all and worse, are very cpu dependant because of the advanced physics used to make the planes behave just like they do in the real world.

Even in a relatively old game like falcon 4.0,you'll be hard pressed to go over 35 fps even when using ghz+ cpu's.

Same goes for other games like:

                combat flight simulator 2.

F1 2000(especially at the starting line with 20 AI controled cars).

                B17 flying fortress-the mighty 8th.
