And it also can't be denied, Zyn, that you are so full of it.

I would be happy with G450 with 128-bit
DDR and enough MHz:s with memory.

btw that wire to the heat sink of 450
is there power out let, it has three pins
but i haven't tested is there any voltage ?

OK, how about 2ND gen MAX? Still too long?

G800 sounds like it means it will be twice as good as the G400. I wonder?????

Lets put it this way, when the G400 max came out, it had kick ass 3D AND better 2D than the other cards. It wasn't the best, but it was competitive. Lets say for comparisons sake it was 85% as good as the best 3D cards at the time, I hope the next high-end 2D/3D card is 90% as good or better than the best 3D cards. I'll settle for 90% though.

Actually my G400 Max is fine anyways, why am I dreaming?

Just to revive it once more ...

                    Remember this one ???

<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica" size="2">> All well and good, but Matrox are really not that hot in 3D card land.
                    > nVidia kick their ass, and are a lot cheaper. Matrox are awesome for 2D
                    > manipulation (e.g., dual-head displays, etc., ), but for 3D, I severly
                    > question the decision. Maybe Bill G's deal with nVidia for X-Box meant they
                    > are out of the picture for other consoles/systems or something.

We had bets in the office about how this announcement would be turned
                    into another failure for Amiga.

We went upto Montreal and spent a whole day in their development labs.
We saw the G800, and we saw the stuff that they are working on past
that. They are going a very different way, placing a strong emphasis
on staying up there with Polygon Pushing whilst adding features that
make the 3D experience far more realistic - and no, it isn't more
                    polygons.

In addition, they have the best video hardware, something that
Amigans have demanded from us from the outset.

                    Some of the reasons why.

How about a new 'M3D' card, maybe based on the Power VR 3 (Kyro) chip ?

I think it could be a good product for Matrox, they could still keep the current products for office use, while giving us gamers a boost.

Probably a million reasons why it can't be done, but it would be cool

I suspect the card will be publicly announced around March 30th.

(Edit... if not at the upcomming GDC)

Zyn needs to be emailed every thread, with everything he said above, before we have anyone in here that tries to tell him (and everyone in the future) again, what he did say wrong

Ant, isn't there an email option in this UBB, that the moment you type something like that, you get emailed all the threads that had those (questions & answers) before?

that wouldn't help, because there aren't any hard fact to contradict anything he says. However, if you have the slightest idea what's currently going on, you know he full of it!

But the thing is, 99% of us don't have a clue as to whats going on.. hence the rampant speculation and somewhat cynical attitude as towards when M will release the infamous Gxxx card.

Yeah, if I was part of the beta test team or even had some info as to wtf is going on over at Mr, maybe I wouldn't feel so helpless. But the rest of us here are just looking for a sliver of hope to hold onto.
